Are you curious about how to more easily release tension in your body and alleviate emotional/mental stress? In this two-hour self myofascial release workshop, you will learn to use a tennis ball and a yoga block to help you feel better. By targeting connective tissue and using compression/decompression, you'll work to relax tight muscles and create more ease in your body while also increasing blood circulation and improving digestion. There will be a 15 minute yoga nidra meditation at the end. You will leave feeling relaxed as if you just had a wonderful massage!
A Chicago native, Joanna is happiest surrounded by trees and water and finds fulfillment connecting with others on their journeys toward empowerment. Natures's dynamic power greatly inspires her; she incorporates this nurturing fluidity into her teaching. Joanna combines her experience, knowledge and intuition to empower and guide others on their yogic journey. Joanna completed her 200-hour Teacher Training as well as apprenticeship in Power and Yin Yoga. Always a student, Joanna continually seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge and is currently working towards a certification in trauma-informed yoga. Joanna joined the Chi-town Shakti team in May of 2019 and teaches three weekly classes: Thursday morning Slow Flow, Wednesday evening Hatha 1-2 and Wednesday evening Queer + Trans Gentle Yoga.
