ENERGY WITHIN - Friday, February 3, 7:00-8:30 PM (choose online or in-person)
Counter the cold of winter through your own internal energy! We will move dynamically through sun salutations to generate physical warmth and then wrap up with a meditation focused on the breath that gives opportunity to connect with your inner Self.
GRATITUDE - Friday, March 3, 7:00-8:30 PM (choose online or in-person)
Research shows that noting gratitude improves well-being. We will enjoy a heart-opening physical practice followed by meditation that invites you to feel gratitude.
ROOTEDNESS – Friday, April 7, 7:00-8:30 PM (choose online or in-person)
As spring emerges, nourish your own rootedness. We will playfully explore balance and stability through physical asana and then devote attention to personal growth using the meditation tool “A Wish to Grow.”
Instructor: Tania Schusler
Tania finds that yoga's integration of breath, movement, and meditation has led her to feel more centered, calm, adaptable, and present in all facets of life. She enjoys sharing yoga with others and encourages each student's personal experience. Originally from northern Illinois, Tania began practicing yoga while a graduate student in upstate New York and next lived in New Hampshire. Each time she moved, she sought a studio that felt welcoming and so was thrilled to discover Chi-Town Shakti when she settled in Chicago in 2012. She especially appreciates the supportive community at Chi-Town Shakti as she continues to learn and grow in her own yoga and meditation practice.
Tania completed the ShambhavAnanda Yoga® 200-hour training at Chi-Town Shakti in 2016 and Level 2 training in 2018. She has been a Certified ShambhavAnandaYoga® Meditation Instructor since 2022. Off the mat, Tania teaches environmental studies at Loyola University Chicago and enjoys reading, cycling, hiking, cross-country skiing, and spending time with family and friends.
